Redefining the Game: Jimmy Hayes and Amputeed Golf

Jimmy Hayes

Jimmy Hayes recently stepped onto the course at the Iowa Adaptive Open Championship – his first adaptive tournament since losing his leg to severe blood clots.

For many, that would be the end of the story. For Jimmy, it was just the beginning.

Faced with two choices – accept limitation or redefine it – Jimmy chose to redefine it. Learning to walk again was one challenge. Learning to compete again was another. But golf became more than just a game; it became proof that a setback doesn't mean finished.

"Amputeed Golf isn't about inspiration," Jimmy says. "It's about resilience. It's for competitors. For grinders. For anyone who's faced something that should've taken them out – and didn't. This brand stands for showing up anyway."

Jimmy's journey is a powerful reminder that adversity doesn't define us – how we respond to it does. Through Amputeed Golf, he's building more than a brand; he's building a community for those who refuse to give up.

We're proud to feature Jimmy's story and support his mission. Visit Amputeed Golf to shop his gear, learn more about his journey, and show your support for a competitor who proves that the game isn't over until you say it is.
